Mechanics of Solids Lab

This lab introduces students to basic properties of structural materials and behavior of simple structural elements and systems through a series of experiments. It deals with the study of the behavior of structures under loading conditions. In this lab the experiments are performed to measure the properties of the materials such as impact strength, tensile strength, compressive strength, hardness, ductility etc. This lab consists of heavy machines like Universal testing machine, Torsion testing machine, Impact testing machine, Brinell hardness testing machine, Rockwell hardness testing machine, etc. The student projects and research work is supported in this Lab. This lab is a part of II Year I semester. This lab consists of white marker board. The display boards have been provided to display list of equipment’s, list of experiments, time tables, and syllabus.

Mechanics of Fluids Lab

This lab is well equipped with heavy machines such as venturi meter, orifice meter, reciprocating pump and multi stage reciprocating pump. In this lab, there is a range of experimental setup through which students are given demonstration to understand the various methods of measurement of flow rates, capacity and velocity of water in tanks, closed pipes and open channels. This lab provides an introduction to the mechanics of incompressible and compressible fluids. It covers the principles and more important theories of modern fluid mechanics. This lab is a part of II Year I semester. This lab consists of white marker board. Aircraft Production Technology-I Lab

This lab is well equipped with conventional machines like Pattern Making, Sand Moulding, Injection Moulding, Arc Welding, and Gas Welding. The main idea is to focus on basic manufacturing process using these machines. In this lab student’s carried out experiments conversion of raw material into useful job with given dimensions and shape by using various manufacturing techniques. This lab is a part of II Year I semester. This lab consists of white marker board. A display boards has been provided to display list of equipment’s, list of experiments, time tables, and syllabus.

Computer Aided Drafting Lab

The main purpose of this lab is to introduce students the overview of the drawing and design process. The course covers basic principles of design process of an aircraft and the related details of all design techniques. After completion of the course the student gains adequate knowledge to design all the different parts of an aircraft. Students can draw various machine components sub-assemblies and main assemblies in drawing lab. Students can design various aircraft components by using Auto-Cad software. This lab is a part of II Year II semester. This lab consists of white marker board. The display boards have been provided to display list of experiments, time tables, and syllabus

Aircraft Production Technology-II Lab

This lab is well equipped with conventional machines like lathe machine, milling machine, shaping machine etc. The main idea is to focus on various manufacturing process using these machines. In this lab student’s carried out experiments conversion of raw material into useful job with given dimensions and shape by using various manufacturing techniques. Aerospace Structure Lab

The structures laboratory is used to enhance the learning experience of undergraduate students by encouraging them to undertake projects. In addition, the structures lab provides facilities which can be used for specimen preparation and testing. The structures lab is set up for experimentation and testing of structural components like Maxwell’s reciprocal theorem, Universal testing machine, and shear center. Several test frames have been designed and are available with actuators for testing of various structural components. This lab is a part of III Year I semester. This lab consists of white marker board. The display boards have been provided to display list of equipment’s, list of experiments, time tables, and syllabus.

Aerodynamics Lab

The laboratory conducts studies in fundamental aerodynamics and propulsion. They include passive and active flow control techniques, prediction and measurement of forces and moments on bodies moving through a fluid. Applications of this research include viscous drag reduction and energy efficiency. This also includes experimental and theoretical investigations in areas such as high speed jet flows, aero acoustics and turbo machinery. The work on high-speed jet is expanding to include combustion aero acoustics, where we seek to understand through experiments and wave analysis, the generation and possible control of noise in turbulent flames. Propulsion Lab

The main purpose of this Lab is to provide students a practical feel of the lectures they have studied in their credit course related to Fluid Mechanics, thermodynamics and Propulsion. For understanding the principles of propulsion, the sources of propulsive forces will be considered. Fundamental performance parameters for air breathing propulsion systems and rockets will be explored. Students can understand the basic principles and their components of a 2-stroke, 4-stroke engines and performance parameters of petrol and diesel engines. This lab is a part of III Year I semester. Flight Vehicle Design Lab

This lab mainly deals with design and weight estimation of aircraft based on the request of proposal. It even gives information about different modes of design and evaluates the empty weight fraction and payload. Using MS-Excel sheet iterations students can enhance much knowledge to calculate payload for their RFP (Request for Proposal). This lab is a part of III Year II semester. This Lab is well equipped with White marker board. A display boards has been provided to display list of experiments, time tables, LCD projector and syllabus.

Aircraft Interior Design Lab

The main purpose of this lab is to introduce students the overview of the drawing and design process. The course covers basic principles of design process of an aircraft and the related details of all design techniques. After completion of the course the student gains adequate knowledge to design all the different parts of an aircraft such as, various individual components, sub-assemblies and main assemblies. In this lab we discuss the importance of design process and study the different phases of designing process involved in the design. So that we can understand the design of aircraft concepts. To design various aircraft components we are using CATIA V5 software and AutoCAD. This lab is a part of III Year II semester. This lab consists of white marker board. Flight Simulation Lab

Flight simulation lab deals with real time Problems of Flight Data Analytics to create an atmosphere for the students to expose to the real time problems of Flight Data Analytics. Students will acquire the basic knowledge of Pilot training. Flight Simulator is a setup which can be used to create the virtual environment for Training a Pilot. In this lab we have source of flight simulator with live shares. This lab is a part of III Year I semester. Computational Fluid Dynamics Lab

The computational Fluid Dynamics lab curriculum requires the understanding and practice of ANSYS Fluent and MAT lab commercial software packages. The fluid dynamics analysis will be performed using the ANSYS Fluent Software and the code development experiments will be performed using the MAT lab software. This lab is well equipped with all the software’s that are required for students. The students carry out all their project works which are related to the software’s. This lab is a part of IV Year I semester. This lab consists of white marker board. A display boards have been provided to display list of software’s, list of experiments, time tables, and syllabus.

Heat Transfer Lab

The experiments conducted in the heat transfer lab help the students to understand all the three modes of heat transfer, namely conduction, convection and radiation practically. These experiments also pave way for inculcating certain innovative skills in the students making them to use the above experimental setups as starting point to take up higher level experimental studies in Heat Transfer. Aero Materials Lab

This laboratory is used to analyze surface conditions of materials. As students learn about various equipment like bottom pouring type stir casting machine, universal testing machine, Digital ultrasonic flaw detector, Barcol hardness tester. Students able to identify the mechanical properties of all type of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) composite materials. This lab is a part of IV Year I semester. Engineering Workshop Lab

This laboratory is used to provide the introduction to the basic techniques used in manufacturing industry like carpentry, Tin Smithy, Welding, Machining process using Lathes. Further it is also used for manufacturing the components like Airfoil, cylinder, Scaled model of the wing etc., which are further tested in wind tunnel. The lab is equipped with Bench Vices, Arc Welding and Gas welding equipment, and other machining processes. This lab is a part of I Year I semester. Computational Structural Analysis Lab

The aim is to introduce students the overview of the design and analysis of aircraft structural components. The course covers basic design process of an aircraft and the related analysis. After completion of the course the student gains adequate knowledge to design and analysis of all the different components of an aircraft. Students can easily understand to do model analysis on open and close sections. This lab is a part of IV Year I semester. This lab consists of white marker board.
