Electronics and Communication Engineering

Overview

The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department was established in the year 2005 with the intake of 60. In the year 2015, the Institution was granted Autonomous Status. Currently the department offers four year B. Tech course with the student intake of 240 and two PG programs: 1) Embedded Systems and 2) Digital Systems and Computer Electronics with the intake of 24 each. The Department had received Accreditation by NBA for 3 years in the year 2013 and again in the year 2016. The department is staffed by highly qualified and well experienced teaching faculty and technical staff. The department is an active member of IETE, ISTE, IEEE and IUCEE.

Provide quality technical education with innovation and importance to R&D, thereby fulfilling the needs of the society, and to achieve Academic Excellence in Electronics and Communication Engineering for Global Competent Engineers.

Program Educational Objectives

  • PEO 1: Graduates will excel in the field of core engineering along with the supporting knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals.
  • PEO 2: Graduates have solid foundations in fundamentals is required to solve engineering problems. This serves them lifelong in their professional domain as well as higher education.
  • PEO 3: Graduates will exhibit the effective skills in core design sectors, management and leadership qualities at the national level and in multinational organization.

COE Matlab has conducted a 3 day Faculty development program (FDP) on Hardware connectivity with MATLAB and Simulation during 27-29 May 2019. 20 Faculty members of MLR Institute of Technology, 5 faculty members of MLRITM and 3 faculty members of BVRIT attended the FDP. Student Activities

Interdepartmental Micro project competitions were organized under IETE Student Forum (ISF) on 27th April 2019 in Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), MLR Institute of Technology. Dr. M. Srinivasa Rao, Professor, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad-Campus and Dr. Narasimham, Senior Engineer in BARC, Hyderabad had evaluated the projects.
